BE WARNED EXPLICIT CONTENT...But totally worth it…
Dear Readers,
You are probably asking “Why, Amelia! You are reading- ahem- out of your usual category!” Not true! A love story is a love story, no matter the preference!
A word of warning- this is an erotica, foul words, naughty scenes, explicit sexuality is abound in this one folks, and it is a gay erotica so I do not think it shall be everyone’s cup of tea, but quite frankly forget your cup of tea and try something compleatly out there! This is something to do that with.
Now, I must say that it normally is not my type of read. But I was recommended it since I do have a rather embarrassing love of dark tales of romance, no matter the orientation.
This is exactly that. Dre, is…the epitome of a good-bad lover for this poor baby our hero- I felt so badly for him. Jevaughn gets his sexy straight Jamaican-American crush Dre to go on a little bi-orientation experience with him- you may swoon now- but unfortunately for them Dre’s uncle is a crazy Drug Dealing Homophobic Cur! He deserves all caps as he is a total and complete Ass.
These poor dears have no idea what they are getting themselves into, so when the Don comes knocking on their door- let me tell you it is a whirlwind of problems, heartache and a big ball of tangled mess!
The ending was quite fetching as the hero of this tale, ends up realizing that he will simply go with whoever brings him bliss- either Dre or the other person he is interested in. (No spoilers!)
I am amazed at how Mr. Lewis captured things so well in first person- certainly something I hope to obtain in “The Duke on Gloucester Street.” It gave me a new perception on first person with all the motion and style of writing. Because it was very simply to follow, goodness I finished it in a few hours- mostly because I kept re reading parts that I love. For example:
“ Love was a ruthless game…” I thought as I cruised uphill.” That was at the end of the book, it was quite eye catching. Mr. Lewis has a very interesting way of writing that pulls the reader in, some parts make you wince, others make you cry and some just make you gasp in horror.
But all in all, this was a very fascinating read- I do admit I blushed at some parts as you know I am highly unused to such obvious points of- ahem- affectionate exchange and words?
In other words…as my dear love Jonathan always states: “Amelia, you are a prude at heart. And sex sells.” To him I say “La!”
As stated, this is a profound read for those who do not mind the language and explicit sex.
Mr. Lewis I look forward to what you have to offer later on down the road! This was an exceptional read and I am excited to see the rest of your works!
Sincerely,
Amelia Clearwater
